A game is merely a simulation, they say, a pathetic mockery of the real world.

And yet I have felt fear, the first time I sparred with the enemy.

I remember wonder, too, when I gazed upon the forests and the mountains.

Enough. This is an exercise in futility. How does one describe the beauty of the Matterhorn to one who has never been to Switzerland?

There are those who deny the merits of gaming, and I truly am sorry for them. They say I have abandoned reality to live a shadow existence. To them, I am irrational, deluded, and naive.

Such people are beyond reform, beyond persuasion, so I will say just this. May irony smite you so hard you end up in last week.

Joke's on you, bud.
