If I have one regret, it would be that I never hung around long enough to see that come to fruition. It's like the good book you never got to finish. Do you feel as I do?

Truly, that is the one failing of all languages. How can I, in an instant, condition someone with the necessary knowledge to allow them to perceive something as I do? Do you know what those words entail? Do you know what they mean?

Empathy: A state of total identification with an other's situation. The action of understanding the feelings, thoughts, and experiences of another.

No human has perfect empathy. I couldn't care less that Elvis died, and so I will not blame you if you don't in this instance.

On a side note, the person who coined the word 'empathy' must have had a hard time convincing others of it. Since emphathy is needed for the listeners to understand in the first place, it must be odd, feeling something you don't have a word for yet.
