The world is burning.

I can feel it, nestled in the cool heart of my electronic cocoon. Everywhere you turn there is injustice. Look to the east. A woman in Malaysia is denied religious freedom, while courts in China continue to make a mockery of the law. Look to the west, where it seems people will argue over just about anything. Religion, politics, religion in politics, the list goes on.

It seems all too easy for people to succumb to power, greed, and spitefulness. Perhaps I only speak as such because I have never really been tested. Will I succumb as well? I should hope not.

But I too, am guilty, aren't I? Not long ago, I ate a packet of m&ms meant for my brother.

He never knew they existed.

They were just sweets, I tell myself. They were just sweets.
